sometimes i like to think certain people in the media play down similar achievements eg s pape, also kochie with nathan birch with the aim to
1 protect uneducated from over extending themselves
2 keep property investing a secret society!

the article has been cleverly edited, with regards to the conversation. like peter said you dont know yield instantly.... although surely she would have been prepared for such a question from a money man.

also i see scott papes target audience tje under 35's with bucket loads of debt and poor budget skills

I generally like Pape's approach but i totally agree your statement. A lot of his advice is really basic and aimed at teaching young adults who have never grasped the concept of spending less than you earn and then investing. The concpet of accumulating multiple properties with debt was never going to sit well with him.

What an awesome read, hats off to him. Quite a contrast to the previous 2 stories we have seen re property investment.

Edit: Just read the SS post. Shame :(.

A liberal ego requires delusion to stay intact.

Fact is anyone with the same welfare as she received could've done better. Especially at the point in the market she was buying.

Easy to see why her attitude given the reality is receiving strong criticism. Not everyone her age can "stop whinging" when their parents/grandparents don't spoonfeed them the same opportunity.

So I'm assuming without the handouts she'd currently only have one or zero properties? From memory the article said she saved on a 60k salary for only one year, if it's that easy then why wouldn't anyone lend me 2.4ml in equity?

Clearly you only get 100% LVR no LMI if your grandparents die and leave you something. People in that situation need to stay quiet and not attack others for "whinging" (who don't have families to set up all their deposits). That's why she's getting flak good on them I say! What nerve! Hopefully she doesn't come back to planet earth too soon.

Yeah, she really put it all on the line there. Although it was her parents risk.

    Just worry about yourselves...

    Great minds discuss ideas;

    small minds discuss people

Love that . Probably the most worthwhile thing on the whole thread .

Most of the posts come across as small minded jealousy ...

I don't agree, I think most of the posts come along as people questioning the reality of this story we are being fed by the media. For all those of you who have done the hard yards and for those of us just on the very start, it is nothing short of insulting when we are thrown a story of "Look how easy it is", it's not easy and it's damn scary at the start, it takes guts and determination just to jump in, I can only imagine the increase in strength my character will go through as I travel through the ups and downs on this journey.

I mean c'mon, she bought one property solely based on the fact that she could call herself a Lady, Hardly the basis for an unemotional savvy IP decision.

As I have maintained from the very start, well done to her, she is off to a cracking start but don't dress it up into something it isn't, she had help..... why is there so much bloody shame in admitting that?

    Agreed!

This girl got out there & bought something. Who cares if she had help, or that she bought something for a 'title'. There are plenty more her age (or older) a whole lot more privileged than her, who have done nothing.
