Thanks for the reply DT, do you think it's tall poppy syndrome from everyone or just the general population? I've read some experienced investors questioning her story.

Geez. At 24 she needs to get to the hair dressers that often to get rid of the grey roots? ;)

Come on now Pistonbroke, she said haircuts. Wash, colour, cut, style and blowdry would be $1000/month.
    Edit: Wait, she's saving $1000/month!

What do you think of her becoming an advisor for Ms Bishop straight out of school at age 20?

she was probably just doing admin and answering phones. i dont really care what she "did" her portfolio does the talking and she sounds hungry for me.

news.com.au wrote their typical picec of garbage which started the issues. read the first article.

Article also said she's gotten a lot of interest in her business so worked out great for her. Just hope she ensures a good level of service and don't just rely on her profile to make a buck.

LOL! I've been cutting my own hair for about 30 years.

Reasons - to save money, and because everyone cuts it badly (in my own eyes). At least if I stuff it up, I can only blame me and it's free.

My concern is that they are splashing this story with the old "Uni dropout does really well for themselves" label, sooooooooooo would you guys take financial advise from a person who has no qualifications and very little life experience?

I am pretty sure you need to be certified to give real financial advice :).

The advisor to Bronwyn Bishop also jumped out at me, you will probably find her family are friends with her and she did an unpaid internship or some such thing, this is pure speculation on my part though.

I love a good success story as much as the next guy but this one needs more dragons to be even a little more realistic :p

There's no need to look too far, even on SS I felt some people were unnecessarily harsh. Didn't she get compared to that girl who faked having cancer??

She's a 24 yr old who is giving things a good go, maybe she's had more help than others (that's debatable ) so what?

I'd suggest reading the article linked above and her LinkedIn page.

Looks like she owns a mortgage broking company, there's no indication she is doing this without the proper qualification like you're claiming.

As for the bronwyn bishop role, sounds like it was some temp relief position, hardly glamorous.

Ha, that's the ticket, I don't trust many people to touch my hair either.
