    Really depends on who you are dealing with, seems a common misconception. Some Architects are cheaper than some drafters or comparable. Just highlights why you need to get the right people involved. I'd happily pay more for the guy who's designing better than the guy who's getting it done for cheaper...we are creating a product after all

    I'm engaging a guy, 5k for everything. Full drawings. I'm not one to go cheap. But this guy is good and very, very well recommended. He is a drafty yes, works from his luxury home.

    Fingers crossed it works out.

    When you say "for everything" what does this include? Schematic plans for a DA/Planning permit application? Full working drawings? Includes lodgement and management of the application?

    Totally agree. It's all about getting the right people who are able to help you meet your goals and not about whether they are an architect or drafty; or how cheap they are.
