People don’t like change. Change is scary, even if it might mean good policy and/or better performing economy.

Wonder if they all remembered to check their residency status this time?

A great series - but watch the "ex-politicians" for some light but thoughtful insight

Geez you would think libs would have sorted their vetting process by now ... Just re-enforces the view (one could argument that this is a fact based on current and previous behaviour) that Liberal are a bunch of homophobic,Islamophobic , racists. But hey, you get to keep a few extra dollars that would have gone to providing services to the community ....

As for PUP and one nation... mostly LNP voters who are shifting further right....I really hope the Liberal and nationals implode big time...off to the wilderness for 15 or 20 years to come back to the Centre.

While there have been more Libs, there has been a candidate from AUP and one from Labor caught out.

Some of the posts have been screen grabs of ists since deleted, so would be very hard to weed out.

The first one to be reported, Kate Ashmore, was reported as saying that private schools are better than government schools. Quite mild in comparison with subsequent incidents.

In the last election, one candidate was sprung for things posted under a pseudonym - again, very hard to weed out.

I suspect that vetting of postings will be much better in future elections.

Everyone likes to think that they are in the centre, it’s highly subjective.
I beginning to wonder if you are an ALP staffer by your posts?

Nope. Not a member of the ALP but have volunteered for them as I prefer to be active participant the democratic process (seat I'm in is strong Labor). Politically I have voted centre left to left - make of that what you will.

Also an important lesson to everyone - don't post anything on social media that might come back and bite you in the future.

Keep it light, social and friendly

For the record I'm know I'm not in the centre - definitely upper left quadrant of most political compass tests. Would be interesting to see analysis of voting prefs and generally accepted popn positions. Their would be some alignment of the Liberal 'wets' and Labor right.

Being anonymous didn't help the candidate who got sprung in the last federal election.

Not anonymous enough then. Not hard to get around most vetting for online, add in tor and public wifi or hell even mobile networks and you're pretty much hidden. Only details that you leak will give you up.
