I’m smack bang in between when it comes to stupid compass. I like social policies, I am
One of people who firmly believe that health and wealth of society overall benefits those who are well off.
That said, I pay a lot of tax. And with Labor I’ll probably end up paying more. But I like that they are trying to shake up the tax system. Any change is good. It’s worth trying. If it fails it can always be rolled back.

I have looked a all the lower house candidates for my seat and would not, in good conscience, vote for any of them.

In that case is it more proper to lodge an informal vote or to go against my conscience and vote for the least worst candidate who represents a party I don't support.

I'm feeling like I am stuck between making a wrong choice or a bad choice. Which is worse?

IMHO donkey vote is way worse. Non committed way out with no responsibilities. Regardless of how small it is, each vote has a value and should not be wasted.

It is an important responsibility and we are fortunate to live in a country where we don't need armed guards to protect polling booths. Decisions are made by those who turn up. So no matter who you want to vote for, please vote.

I feel it is wrong to vote for any of my local candidates because I don't support any of them. I don't want a single one of the candidates to represent my electorate. I also think it is wrong not to vote. In that case, who do I vote for? I am genuinely conflicted by this choice.

So it's better to vote for something you don't want? I would end up voting for someone I really don't want to win. Please explain how that makes sense.

How much influence does a member of a party really have? The member could be a real con artist, but they are generally constrained to follow the policy of their party.

Or you just vote against the worst candidate, as many did in the US election.

"Better" is relative. That would be Liberals and after the performance of this government, the thought of voting for them makes me feel sick to the stomach.

@Perthguy then vote for whats better for your wealth creation aspirations. I guarantee you the other side of the equation is not factoring in what's fair for you into their decisions.

Lets call my candidates Adam and Eve. Eve is a terrible candidate and I would not vote for her. Adam represents a party I think is disgusting. I could vote against Eve and complain when Adam wins. When people ask what I did abput it I can tell them I voted for Adam. I would feel foolish but at least I didn't waste my vote :vomit emoji:

Very tough call. Either would be a bad outcome. That's what makes it upsetting. Even the micro parties are idiots this time round. It's pathetic.

Tell me about it! I'm in Peter Dutton's electorate. Poor guy - he has the worst job in the country.

The ALP candidate seems nice, but I would rather eat glass than vote Labor. I would want to poke out my eyes if I vote Lib after how useless they have been since Rudd left. Listening to the four panelists on QandA this week, I almost slipped up and went Greens

    I'm socially-conscious centre>right (Save the Koalas)

Yeah, watching that episode nearly made me ashamed to be a Queenslander ;).

The show finished just in time. I was close to putting a match to my Queensland passport and Maroons’ jersey .

Oops - misheard - thought you said he was the worst "guy" in the country and I was about to agree with you.

If you're concerned about the environmental future, why not vote Greens or Independent all the way ... or ... gasp ... Labor for lower house and Greens for upper
