Project Manager to manage builder? Syd Duplex

Hi All,

I'm looking to build duplexes in Sydney. Construction costs will be around $1.2-1.3m and we would like to look into getting a Project Manager to check on the builder throughout construction.

Do many people use a project manager when they're engaging a builder?

What cost should we expect to pay, and is there anyone you could recommend?

What role do you want the PM to take?

• Manage the design, building application/approvals, tender, contract letting, contract administration, quality assurance, drive programme, occupation certificate, warranties?
• Progressive & Stage inspections?

 

Our architect would handle the design and approvals. I guess it would mainly be running a tender, letting the contract, quality assurance and inspecting the site throughout construction.

 

Ask the architect as the PM should sit between the client, architect & builder.

 

could depend on the total cost (size) of the build.
I've been on some large builds $$$ around Mosman and a project manager has been engaged.
