It's general advice only, of course. But he will hear the 'cancer' word and feel trapped. He isn't. Every second male patient I see has prostate cancer, as well. I hardly factor this in to decision making at all.

There are always other opinions available.

There is no robot in Canberra? That's amazing. Brisbane is a small country town and we have at least three that I can use.

But anyway, I hope it went well.

    Waste of money !!!
    Im paying $190 a month...

Just had my knee anthroscopy gap of $3400 !!!
$2700 for that surgeon plus $700 for the anthesist !!!

I offered him $2,000 cash and he abruptly said No !!! He wanted the full $2700 BEFORE the operation !!!!!!!!

Granted he done my knee anthroscopy 1 week after seeing him ($250 consultation)maybe a public hospital would of put me on a waiting list ??

My knee was sore and always clicking , i saw him ($250) and he said next week i will do the anthroscopy . And is my knee better ... Still bloody clicking !!!

So $250 consultation plus $2700 plus $700 plus another $250 to see him

    What am i getting for my $190 a month !!!! :mad::mad:

A knee arthroscopy. A public hospital would have put you on the waiting list, and I'm guessing this would take 3 years.
Your postoperative review (within 6 weeks) should be free, and included in your care.

This is why the rest of us are going to get screwed. I can do a 1000x larger operation and I've never charged a gap even close to that. Maybe I'm in the wrong specialty, or just not an *********.

If you get a cancer, my personal public waiting list just hit 6 weeks today. Private? Less than one week. Again- your choice.

**Edit: I had no idea this rude word would go through. Awesome :)

Having seen both my parents die of cancer, i believe 8 times out of 10 it will eventually get you .
Both my parents chose to stop chemo because it wasnt do anygood .

When my mother was dying of cancer a chemo specialist Doctor up in Gosford offered private treatment for $15,000 , he said it was some sort of trial and could prolong her life for a few months even though there was no guarantee.

I would of paid it but my Mother refused it and died a few months later anyway., well how can i say it... She was helped to die as were all the other Cancer patients .
You camnt deny the oncologist gives them lots of morphine to kill them.

I know they assisted in her death, i dont blame them at St Vincets Hospital because she was in pain but anyway it was probaly for the better .
I was angry at first but i come to realise it took her suffering away.

That Cancer is a real ******* of a disease .
