    Hi,

We are moving in to a new rental property next week and today when I called an ADSL internet company to sign up a new connection, they told me I cannot apply because they found the phone service is still active in the property which means maybe previous tenants have unpaid bills and did not disconnect the service when they moved out.

What do I do? Show Telstra my new lease agreement or ask property manager to deal with it?

Is it an easy process? How long did it take for you to resolve it?

Well Internode said it would take 2 weeks minimum to move my connection over, so I emailed them my lease and whinged to my property manager, after ~2 weeks my internet was connected without issue.

most get connected with no problems. Some companies do cause problems over previous disconnection issues.
