    I've done a thorough reno for the main residence, in 2014 it cost around 150k, now it'll be well over 300k, not including the opportunity cost of that much $.

    The situation is so fluid that some builder / reno companies won't even give you an appropriate quote because by the time they can come to work on your project, the price may have already changed (I've experience this for rebuilding a pergola + sunroom enclosure...). Gave up, won't do until H2 2023 when things start to fall apart.
