I'm looking at a block in Brisbane with a termite infested house that would need to be demolished. It's early days and I'm looking at a scenario of replacing this with a cheap pre fab 4 bed 2 bath, and have seen figures of around $75k for the house alone (need to confirm). The pre fab house i think will suit the general street 'vibe'. I thought about getting a relocatable home and reno but pre fab seems an attractive option w less hassle. Wondering if anyone has any wisdom to share? Timeframes, hidden costs, approvals etc?
pre-fab is more expensive that traditional building in australia if you sourced from a provider in australia. it would only be pratical for places which are far from the city, regional etc due to the limited trades or travel to the area.
