Hi all, sorry for a silly question. Would this kind of power line be of concern (lender / future buyer when re-sell; I presume not health wise), if it's right in front of the interested property?

    Thanks in advance!

That's not a high tensile one, just an ugly street pole. It may affect re-sell if it's right in front of a window, and the prospective purchaser doesn't like the view, but overall it wouldn't be a worry to me, if that was the property I was interested in.

The power authority has installed tiger tails to prevent someone working near the cable from coming into contact with the live cable.

Of greater concern is the lack of parking without resorting to parking on the footpath.

The coloured insulated covering should be removed in due course if its a local construction hazard. However it may also be a sign that the cable gets wiped out by trucks and its there as a warning. In older areas nothing is underground and such mess is common. Hey its better than Thailand where this can be "normal"

Sorry to follow-up with another type of power line - will you be concerned if this type of power lines are this close the house you are interested in?
You can see the power lines right across if you looked right out the bedroom window (2nd photo). Would it be a deal-breaker?

@Weinilourson - if you're so concerned about visible power lines, look for a new subdivision with underground power.

You spend 1 minute each day looking out of the bedroom window, that's 1/3600 of the day.

Unless the power lines look like the picture below, it's a non-issue.
