Jeeze as bad as America is, thats a lot of bang for the buck. 550k gets you a 400 sqm block and a basic basic 4 bed home here.

I just want to requote this from 2018 - seems pretty apt still :)

It's beautiful isn't it?. We have so few old buildings and it's just stunning. I'd gut the inside (those bathroom tiles!!) but the size and the terrace! To die for. I'm sure the Elizabeth Quay buildings will destroy some views but the location is fantastic.

May not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s perfect for us, it’s a 4/2/2 reasonable views and super quick to clean.
Great for young kids- we just bought it.

I'm happy to let go of a kidney

Wouldn't it be cheaper after they've risen?!

3602 Mount Lindesay Highway, Park Ridge

This gorgeous old home was owned by family friends when I was a kid, and I have the fondest memories on the property.

Council bought it for an OBSCENE amount of money in 2009, just under a million dollars when it was in immaculate condition, then they left it empty for ten years. It was heavily vandalized, flooded and otherwise left for dead. I would've loved to get the local news onto a story about council misuse of public funds, but by the time we were seriously talking about it, the Logan council got fired for corruption. Oops.

Come November 2019 it came up for sale, and sold for $478,500 as is. I was devastated that we weren't in a position to buy at the time, but the family who bought it has been lovingly restoring the home, so that's something.

I've been in plenty of homes and thought "wow I love this", but 3602 Mount Lindesay Highway has always been my favourite.
