Awesome! Almost makes me want to move back up there! Price seems sounds good too, compared to 5yrs ago.

If I wanted to ignore the affordable tag, I'd go for 2B Mosman Street in Mosman. It's a relatively modest place, is architecturally interesting and important, and has good public transport links.

Unfortunately it sold for $3.7 million in late 2016, so isn't affordable by any measure. :p

Ha! It's my other half who's keen on a caravan. I'd be just as happy with a camper trailer where you're not as restricted with where you can go. But, in a perfect world I would love a set up like below:

And tow our existing boat which is too big for a car topper but still small enough for rivers but still big enough to go off shore in.

You won't believe it but friends thought of making an offer on one place in Church Point. In addition, the criteria was to be able to maroon their boat.

I have been hunting for mine since I saw this post and finally found it.

I’m a big sucker for Alistair Knox homes and nature and an acerage...and sparkly lights.

It’s a bit impractical location wise for my current life and I hate the floor tiles and many of the modern feature but it is a beauty in my eyes

Love it. If you bought it, congrats. We nearly bought something in a similar vein in North Epping Sydney as our first home after my apartment. Bush all around, similar feel. My partner was too slow to decide to buy though.

That's really nice. I can see why you'd love it.

I think you might be surprised re the price. Sydney is taking a big hit at the moment.

You may yet get your affordable dream home....

Here’s hoping! Moving home from London in a week and will then save for the next 6 to 12 months so I’m hoping it brings similar falls. Hoping to time it well.

If I can get a decent 3 or 4 x 2 house in Dee Why or Collaroy within a 1.5km walk to the beach and a short walk to the express bus to the CBD for $1.5m or less I’ll be happy.

How's the London market these days @lynchy?

From what I've heard in the press, it's been in a slump since the Brexit vote.

Slumps an understatement! I'm working for a property developer at the moment and it's hard to make anything work, land owners haven't yet adjusted their expectations.

For a development we recently acquired, we're forecasting 4 sales a month and even then that's pushing it. It's a 200m walk to the station, in Zone 3 (25 mins to London CBD) and in an affordableish price range in a well regarded & reasonably affluent area.

The problem at the moment is construction costs. All the builders are building in huge margins in case Brexit bites them and it's almost impossible to make anything in the affordable market work. Because the affordable market is the most under supplied you have all these developers, such as us, trying to fit themselves in the affordable market but ending up in no mans land, somewhere between affordable, affordableish and not really affordable, trying to turn a profit with these high construction costs.

So much supply in the affordableish but not really affordable area...which is where we're currently sitting really.
