In one of my townhouses we have found mold/moisture coming through from a bathroom wall. The wall on the other side has the typical paint flaking and mold.

These are brand new houses finished in June2014. Warranty on the building was 12months.

Just wondering if this can be claimed from the builders?

That would have been the maintenance/defects liability period. Structural/statutory warranty lasts for 6 years and covers plumbing issues that may be a result of poor workmanship.

I'm sure your builder will sort it if they are any good!

Yep! Trouble is are they gunna fix it properly or just keep pretending to etc....

Sounds like they haven't waterproofed correctly, perhaps it was skipped, getting close to knock off etc, in the end perhaps some labour isn't gunna care about what you have to deal with after he's gone.

Take photos and document everything incl verbals, try to keep any agreements etc in writing, if it gets too much for you run it through the local ombudsman or seek legal rep etc.
