    Hi Everybody,
    A friend sent me this.
I'm not sure how true it is but in the last couple of days I had recently been getting some random international numbers (starting with +324) calling my phone. I couldn't call them back because my phone service doesn't allow international calls.

Anyway, I would completely lean on the side of caution on this issue, or Google search the number before dialing them back.

People have been receiving calls from

    +37560260528

    +37127913091

    +37178565072

    +56322553736

    +37052529259

    +255901130460

    or

    any number starting from

    +375,

    +371,

    +381,

    One ring & hang up.

If you call back, it's one of those Numbers that are charged $15 - $30.

They can copy your contact list in 3secs.

If you have bank or Credit Card details in your phone,

they can copy that too !

    +375 is from Belarus Afghanistan..

    +371 code for Lativa,

    +381 code for Serbia

    +563 code for Valparaiso

    +370 code for Vilnius

    +255 code for Tanzania.

These calls may be from ISIS.

    Don't answer or call back.

IF SOME ONE ASKS YOU TO DIAL

    #09

    or

    #90.

Please Do Not Dial this When Asked.

they can access your SIM card and make calls at your expense.
In short, be careful in receiving unknown calls.

The news was just shown on Singapore News Channel 5 to alert all Citizens to be alert and careful.

Apparently mum is going to get $19,235.87 into her account from an insurance claim.

The messages were too muffled to get the number.

I doubt they can copy your contacts or SIM over the line. Never heard of such thing. But it does sound like a scam. And there is a potential that it’s premium number so a $15-20 charge seems plausible. DYOR.

I would generally never call back a number from country I don’t know anyone in. There also similar issues happening from Australian numbers as you can rent Australian numbers online pretty much for peanuts.

I never call back a number I don't know if I haven't managed to answer it and they don't leave a message.

Yeah my partner got one two days ago, and I got one last night from Slovenia.
I also doubt they'll "hack" your phone and get info from it. It's just not possible.

It also might be a “number harvesting” exercise, where they call a whole heap of generated numbers to see which ring and which are real. If your number rang means it’s real and goes into database. Then they sell these to scammers and what not.

Same, last night late for one ring.
Then my wife said she got it the day before which seemed strange.
Maybe it’s a locality thing that we get Slovenia in the Shire ?

You’ve really got to expect any cold call/email to be a scam these days.
Too many people still fall for this stuff.

Yeah the worst thing to do is call it back. I figure if an unknown number comes through to me, if it's important they'll call back again, or leave a message.
Even Aussie numbers, if it's a single ring or two, most likely it's a wrong number, so it's not worth the hassle ringing them back.

Agree. They'd text me or try to call again or contact me via another means if it was really important.

Yes I've had 3 this week - two 1-ring calls where prefixes were "France" and "Belgium" (late at night) and some WhatsApp thing allegedly re Raybans. I've blocked those numbers.

It's a bloody Slovenian number. I never call these crooks back but it just annoys me knowing they have my number in some database somewhere. God knows what else they could be doing with it.
