    Hi all,
Could anyone point me to the rules in Canberra for a portable building under 40sqm for our backyard? I'm trying to find out if we can have plumbing and electrical installs. I'm interested in an AJC Portables building which is craned in and set on piers.
We want to install plumbing for bathroom.
Total size is 6x3 so it seems this is not classed as a second dwelling (must be 40-90sqm).
    1009 sqm block.
    Existing 100sqm house on block.
Existing 6x3 colorbond shed on block.

    Thanks

Bring your Plans of the existing dwelling and the details of the new structure
Ask to speak to the plumbing , electrical or building inspectors

All questions should be answered or they should point you in the direction of what you need ....... eg certifier's

    * My understanding would be , if the electrical and plumbing is installed to the relevant Australian standards , permits and work have been done by lic plumbers or sparky and the drainage plans redrawn and inspections signed off .........no problem

Mitchel BS is pretty good bunch. Avoid the EPD in Dickson at all cost! There is a huge difference in customer service between these two.

    Hey Chubbybat,

I'm in the same situation. How did you go with Council approval and AJC portables?

    Please share your experience. Thanks
