Then why would you even give two very different options? Why would you even choose poor Sydney's Mt Druitt if you have the money to live in Tony Abbott's electorate?

That is pleasing to read. I hope it is true and (im)migration numbers start to drop :D.

The last thing us Qlders want is a whole mob of Mexicans crossing the border and pushing up property prices, cost of living, traffic hassles, etc .

If they want that, let them go/stay in Sydney :p.

You would also be knowing that there are many people who will only consider Sydney no matter how much they have. Not everyone is driven solely by money

I’m sure they do. I’m talking about my Quality of life in Brisbane I’d need $300k combined (with wife) to live a similar lifestyle in syd

I would have to assume that the Brisbane option would have a lot quicker commute as I would assume it would be closer to the city. That would be a big factor for me and would sway me to Brisbane option.

There is quite a movement of people that are seeing what their Sydney money can get them around the country and making lifestyle changes if their careers can support it. I know quite a few people that have come to Perth and bought something they could never afford in Sydney close to the beach, 15km from CBD in a great school catchment.

That is exactly what I want. We've got plenty of room for them on the roads, the roads I use, anyway. Come up here and buy, buy, buy. The stamp duty can pay for all the new bridges being built.

I love Sydney for what it is and I love the fact that I can live in an area where the price prohibits many trouble makers from living and socialising. If I could do the same in Brisbane vs Sydney I'd choose Sydney because of the big city feel.

But if I had to choose poorer socio Sydney vs affluent Brisbane good ppor, I'd go Brissy any day.

If you have to choose between Somalia and Canada, which one would you pick?

Remember, you "only have 2 choices" and "it's not about the money".

Ummm not in my part of Sydney. Not crappy.

On the other hand, we don't really care about Brisbane or have any opinion of it.

    Brisbane is... ... ... whatever ... ... who cares?

As usual, people from Melbourne and Brisbane only say crappy and often untrue things about Sydney because they don't get enough attention.

    Typical tall poppy thing.

I heard that being poor in Vanuatu is quite pleasant. Anyone want to come with me on a Recon to find out if it's true?

You either didn't read the it properly or are somehow offended and letting that shine through.

All things being Equal, salary, budget constraints etc
Oh the irony. Looking at your previous posts it is you that is shouting down other places haha.

Stop being so butt hurt and look at the post for what it is. Same salary and budget your either 40km out in Sydney vs 10km< to CBD in Brisbane, a much better/bigger house for the same $, less tolls, less traffic, more sunny days, shorter commutes. If you can debunk any of this be my guest

    What a dismal choice!
You could give me the Taj Mahal in either city and I would reject it.

There can't be too many people left in Sydney at the moment as they have all made their way to YAMBA!

If all other factors are the same especially earning capacity than the lifestyle choice is obvious. Brisbane for lifestyle. It’s not really a debate.

Reality is factors are not the same.

So it will depend on your life stage and wealth building stage (earning capacity) as to where people would live and why many people will remain or move to Sydney.

Population of Western Sydney is about the same as all of Brisbane.

If we assume 25% of Brisbane is the nicer areas - then people are clearly voting with their feet.

My vote is for “none of the above”.
