    What does this mean?
The existing drainage provisions do not comply with the minimum ground surface drainage requirement of the Australian Standard – AS2870 Residential slabs and footings Section 5.2 Drainage”.

Is there any one I should contact to repair this? This sounds like a big job
Its a 1950-60's house on brick piers.

Why would a 1950's house comply with a 2011 Australian Standard?

    An old school builder?

Have the building inspector clarify what they mean - does the subfloor area flood? Is it damp? Does the subfloor require better ventilation? Does it require spoon drains or a more aggressive/extensive drainage system?

There is some water ponding in the subfloor area of the house (built on brick piers). Iv been advised that the water needs to stop running into the place when it rains due to the fall of the land. Who would be the right tradespeople to contact to quote for work in order to prevent water damage to the property?

Does it sit there, get trapped & soak in or is it a watercourse and goes straight out the lowest point?

I beleive it gets trapped. I had a builder have a look and he said theres not alot of water but the area is moist. Iv been reccomended to have adequate surface drainage to divert ground water away from the house and prevent it from getting under the house.

Hi @menty just curious if you’ve done a quote on this? I have a similar issue and been recommended to engage a plumber to explore installing inlet drainage systems. No idea how much it would cost yet

No I havent. Iv engaged an engineer who can advise me though, but not too sure if that's overkill
