We need to take a page out of Trumps book I say. Wall off the west! Keep the riff-raff out.

I actually agree with this...we need to have a better defined policy around development...I feel that the rampant over development of high rises is casuign chaos on the roads. I would like to see better quality development with lower rises (4 stories maximum) and more villas/townhouses. Also they need to crush the nimbys in places like the Northshore, Sutherland, Woolahra...they have to learn to share.....have dem shot at dawn.....

I agree with what you’re saying, but it’s not the gist of the article.
Hunters hill has the least development as it’s over 100 times smaller council area than western Sydney councils.
Also there is only one road in and out of the suburb and it is very densely populated.

When things get tough in politics, the property owners seem to become the enemy.

We need to think of property more like Europeans. It’s only for those that can’t think of something better to do with their money.

But the Australian way thanks to Politicians is the haves and the have nots.

Why not? They've already built dog-boxes in Ryde, Gladesville, Homebush, Strathfield, Lane Cove, Epping, North Ryde, Waitara, Hornsby - a couple out in @dattosville won't hurt.

The North Shore was one of the first areas desecrated by the current building boom of units. Councils saw the densification requirements (Govt big population targets of 50M in 2050) and these were anticipated in the new LEPs in 2014. Unfortunately, developers also jumped onboard immediately and went into full on delivery mode. Councils did little to regulate the release of high density land and approvals.

Bankstown (and other south/sw LGAs) was any extreme late comer to the party.
