REA don't have the best name going around but are PM's any better, or worse?

Each have their pro's and cons, plus different working relationships. Plus if your renting and have IP's it can be different again.

Either way you need them to do business

One quote from a recent REA "I like the sound of you, you mean business"... I never called him again :p he was right!

While PM's are stuck in the middle and able to hide behind the tenant or landlord!

PMs are much nicer people than REA's.

And they have to be... often have multi-year relationships with investors, tenants, tradespeople etc. Whereas REA just needs to be a mate for 90 days til he gets an autograph.

I'm selling a few props atm and have been very impressed with my rea. He's professional, communicates, responsive... Even my son made a comment today how good he thought he was.

By contrast, can't stand my canb pm. She is argumentative, never returns calls or emails. can't wait to see the end of her in a month.

Should also say the rea owns the agency. The pm works for a wage - think that makes a bigger difference than one occupation over the other.

I thought it stands for Property Manager ie the dude situated inside a REA that looks after rentals.

Datto seems lost on this occasion.

You already knew what it stands for, so when you asked you must have been looking for an alternative meaning.

Yeah, bait, I am happy to take it.

Datto, in places I buy the REA fancies themselves as a PM as well cause they always give a crappy appraisal, which in turn make it easier to lowball them...but pal, no one pays more than 1000 per dollar income ??? (maybe with my jelopy worth a hundred bucks they assume I am scratching to buy first own home)

PM's are worse liars! Sick of PM's getting slack with their story telling, that's coming from a tenant and a LL. The usual oh I'm waiting for the landlord/tenant to get back to me.
Recently the pm was saying the tradie was hard to get and unreliable, turned out the pm never sent a work order so the tradie wasn't coming out for free! The lovely receptionist let that one slip. And the other pm, I'm still waiting on inspection photos from 12 months ago, I know you forgot just say you'll take photos next inspection... And still waiting

Talking to both is very necessary, but if I had to say which one I enjoyed talking with more then hands down it would be REAs. I have never met a PM who I had complete confidence in. In one way or another they were only looking out for themselves first. I am sure there are Pms out there who are fantastic. I just haven't engaged any yet. The ones I have are fine, do the jobs I don't want to do but when it comes to rent increase or any business decisions - they are clueless and I don't trust their advice much without thoroughly checking first.

Oh and I'll never forget going into gladstone to rent a place, post boom.. The receptionist thought I was scum! Joke was on her the little muppet when I told her my conditions, meanwhile the pm was bowing to me! :D
