PM Error in paying bills

    Another vote for paying regular expenses yourself. Rates (Water, Council) and Insurance all set up on monthly debit to Credit Card. PM looks after property and only pays for services they engage.

    If I didnt get credit card points, id give it to the PM to do,

    also depends how good you are at not forgetting about the invoices too

    I also find that by being actively involved, you get a better grasp of the situatuon

    I love credit card points too ;)

    Whenever I get a bill I add it to my gmail calendar and set a reminder! I have a lousy memory!

    Or schedule the payment.

    Or use the gmail snooze feature to snooze the email until a couple of days before the due date.

    Did they not all cut out all points on things like rates and taxes.....a while ago ?

    It is still the owner's responsibility to check that the bills are indeed paid on time. So on the one hand, easier for the owner to pay the bills him/herself (and depending on the bill, you might be able to pay it on credit card and get some frequent flyer points). On the other hand, some folks like all the bills and maintenance to appear noted tidily on the EOFY property management statement which in theory makes EOFY tax return a little easier.
