Plumbing vents - smelly drains

    We've had an ongoing issue with smelly drains. The worst is downstairs, we run the washing machine water into that drain and the smell might go for a couple of days, but always comes back.

    I've just read a suggestion to check they are vented properly as it could be some sort of pressure/vacuum issue.

    We don't have any stink pipes, is that compliant? NSW, built 2000.

    pay the plumber the $200-400 fee and be done with it lol
