    Hi guys,

Could you please recommend a good structural engineer in Melbourne? I have a property in Kings Park and the tenant reported large cracks in the walls, as per the attached pictures.

Also would you have an idea if this looks serious and the urgency for the repairs?

    Thanks :)

I'm not a structural engineer but I've had to deal with a lot of them over the years. The ones that come diagonally out the corner of a door or window frame are very, very, very common and nothing to worry about.

Had a similar issue above the same sort of arched doorway.

Even if you paint it it will open up again. Though it more or less stayed the same (<5mm) over 20 years.
