Anyone had new fence height issues re planning permit

Council have advised the following for 2.5m fence total height.
Bottom 200mm mesh - overland flow (that’s another story)
    1700mm palings
    600mm trellis

Yes this adds up to 2.5m, but all my fencing contractor quotes are obviously with standard 1.8m paling - thus fence would be 2.6m high.
I’m guessing I’ll have to seek clarification from council or does this not really matter...

What does the DCP say under "Fencing"?

The condition would stipulate a clause of the DCP or other planning requirement that you have to satisfy.

Is it a permit condition? or is it just has been told to you during the process?

The council has an 800+ page planning scheme document - I assume it this is the same as dcp?? I'll look through

If it's on pdf, 'Ctrl F' is your friend otherwise happy reading.

    2.5/2.6m - that's massive!
Is it you or the council that wants such a high fence? (and Why?)

Is the 600mm trellis related to an overlooking issue maybe? Sometimes a fence extension like this is used. Check the permit, check your plans
