Do you have after-repaint photo? I'm thinking to paint the pipes to the same colour as the textured render as well. Thanks!

That was the after shot! :(
The pm didn't know the painter went out or didn't pass on the message in time. But they painted it the dark colour, easier than all the coats for it lighter i guess.

I'll fix it up myself one day. Definitely agree with you painting it the same as the walls.

I also need some decent photos of the front with the sun on it

Spray the roof. Have to do that when you render otherwise it really sticks out. You could do it yourself and just do the front and sides or something.

Looks good. The pergola worked a treat with the offset legs to raise it from the roof.

I was a bit unsure about using them as they go through the roof tile but the finished product out weighs the risk i feel. Plus I'm very confident he did a top notch job.

    Next stage:
I'm getting a price to do the same out the back. I'm going to do similar as the front but ill sheet the underside with gyprock/villaboard so it will be like an open room. Very cost effective room extension :D ceiling height will be around 2.7m with downlights, fans and some insulation stuffed in. The deck faces north west so we get smashed from midday onwards:eek: especially with these 40deg days.
There will also be a day bed privacy screen put in to block neighbour's and also hide the garage from sight. Similar to this (but my cost effective way:cool:) it will be 1.8m high which will give an air gap above of ~1m the let the southerly through

Also need the front windows replaced. And modifying this useless space:
    20170124_185025.jpg
Going to bring the new window out to the front edge to remove the garden. This will then add extra space (1-2m2) to the master bedroom which I'll put in a day bed storage box. The front window will be frosted on the bottom panels to hide thebox and so that the facade looks similar to now:cool:
Ill be doing electrical, insulation and plastering to keep costs down, don't have time to do more unfortunately

    More pimping!
    Things escalated quickly!

    It's a bit higher than we expected:cool:
Privacy screen across the side at head height as planned to block the neighbours.
We have lost some view from the kitchen window of the neighbour's tree but still have "mountain glimpses";)

I want to continue the screen around to block out the shed! mrs is still undersided:rolleyes:

@bob shovel Sorry to resurrect this thread but looking to do something similar to an IP. How much did the rear deck and pergola cost?

Also is the pergola front and rear covered ie is there poly sheeting or open to the elements?

Those things are ugly but so hard to hide them.
