Do we actually need to? My council is demanding a Seondary consent form for amendment, $102 fee and modified plan just for putting a roller door on my carport.

I wouldn't do it for a roller door! I did it cause I don't like the neighbours and thought there was a chance of being dobbed in plus there was an engineer required

Just opened the latest api mag and toy expired to see my mate* Cherie barber, and the word facade!.... then I was disappointed, another crap reno that she has done! I might need a thread to find out what people think.

Colour scheme not quite right, entry dark, under stairs not rendered or even painted, entry stones just dropped in the grass, doesn't like archs bit leaves the biggest one in over the garage!

I think I need some tight jeans and pink boots, then get my head in the mag and on the tele!!
    @Daisycutter4 FYI

I think it still look better than it was!
Not sure why the porch stones not rendered tho, the entire house is
I think the garage might look a bit weird without the arch? I think it gives a bit of character to the house but not the type of garage I like.
I don't like black entry door - mainly personal taste (apart from it warps badly in heat which doesn't seem to be an issue for this house)

Do that :) Use tight pink jeans and fluoro purple boots

    Hehe.

And put in a massive beam?
How come you didn't go for the split level out that way?

You wouldn't like her US show then. Here she talks about really cheap cosmetic renos, over there she's spending 10's of thousands on kitchens!

Um yeah did do a beam, brick veneer so the brick skin was easy. Then beam up

Didn't step down (would have liked to) for a few reasons. Step was an odd height, just bigger than one step and two small steps didn't feel right, plus kitchen has a big Island bench, and the slab water proofness etc and slab had a big dirty crack through it

@EN710 I feel it fell short of getting maximum bang for buck. Yes, lighter door would have been better, maybe white like the window trim

Did you paint the cupboards or replace the doors?

    I second that!

As for the reno, the arched roller door is now out of conext with the rest of the building. She should have just rendeted or done both arches.
By not rendering the stair risers, they're more pronounced. Even a lick of paint would make them vanish.

sigh - I agree totally about those steps. A lick of paint as @Scott No Mates said would have hidden them much better than current.

There is a lot of portico adding in US pages to boost street appeal but I'm not sure that rectangle of wood necessarily works

On this one @bob shovel they've used some clear polycarbonate for weather proofing but still allow light in
