We would like the money to go into providing sporting facilities all around NSW so all people can have access to sports venues. I know my volleyball club has been really struggling for years to secure courts to use for comps and training. This is what's needed. It's really hard to get courts, we have to jostle with other sports to get courts.

Why would SFS and the stadium at SOP need upgrading?

    Anyway. .. petition here.

I just signed the petition, “Premier Berejiklian : Stop NSW Government WASTING $2B Rebuilding SFS & Olympic Stadiums.” I think this is important. Will you sign it too?

    Thanks,

No need for more seats when no one can make it to events in time due to crummy public transport and hideously expensive parking. And those that do make it are destined to take a month of Sundays to get home again afterwards.

+1 on hideously expensive parking. There's the sports venues for other things but if we we play volleyball there is little to no free parking anywhere at SOP.
The trains at SOP aren't exactly convenient if you live in certain areas so people often park far away and walk in. Hate it.

I'd rather that they spend the money raising the summit of Smiggins Holes so it has some decent elevation and we can go for the winter olympics ;)

My social media feeds have been full of "WTF?" comments over this plan to upgrade the stadiums. I've not seen anyone who supports the plan yet.

Out at dinner last night with a bunch of families from our kids' Spanish classes - nobody there thought it was a good idea either and there was a bunch of other suggestions we had for a better use of the money (perhaps some new schools to help with overcrowding?)

    WHY is the question?

When the stadiums sit empty or less than half full for most events, I cannot see the point in spending such money when we have got tracks for roads, serious drug issues in regional areas, and hospitals understaffed and lacking beds.

    Priorities should not be stadiums.

Many of the state government agencies are specialists of failures, especially the Ministry of Transport. I have yet to see them deliver any successful projects to date and find it difficult that a majority of their staff still have a job when they are incompetent. Maybe I should do that at work and end up with a promotion.
