Australia is so lucky to have a quality unbiased news source like the ABC

The fact Unions like the CFMEU speak so highly of them means a lot to me. I know they must be a Party with good solid moral values just like my Union brothers/sisters

Rather than pull the party to the center, maybe pull the center back to its rightful place ie sanity. If not then aus is poked.

Migrating to NZ if Dutton ever gets elected PM. Luckily there is only a 1% chance of that ever happening.

Yes, I think we got the results of the 2022 and 2025 elections in the same week. Couldn't they find anyone not-despicable?

Did you know Australia’s very first PM was born a Chilean?

This just means another Labor term pretty much guaranteed. I don’t see any multicultural vote going to Dutton and with rapidly changing demographics in key liberal seats, Dutton will cause a lot of damage to Liberal party.

Who said the ABC is unbiased? Have you watched their election coverage? Their bias towards the Libs was in full display. Their Saturday morning show Fawzia Ibrahim had a Twitter list called "Labor thugs" and she is back on air now.On the eve of the election, their panel didn't even bother congratulating Tanya Plibersek for winning the election. They are no different to News corp and Sky as they were all fed the same breadcrumbs from the PM's office.

Look for independent news outlets like Michael West, Shane Dowling of Kangaroo Court of Australia...

Please don't mention Michael West and Mr kangaroo in the same breath. One of them is a serious, respectable journalist.

Intresting move, considering the KI beach shack. I will be surprised if this is not foremost in consideration by ICAC.

IMO Dutton is a thin skinned individual. He advocated for a tax payer funded MP entitlement for funds to sue social media users for personal critique.

Peter Dutton will hold Labor’s feet to the fire from day one

For more than 1000 days, as Labor constantly pointed out, the Morrison government dragged its feet on the establishment of a federal anti-corruption commission.

On day one of his leadership, Peter Dutton not only embraced the concept of a federal ICAC, he gave tacit support to a most robust model that had long been proposed by rural independent MP Helen Haines.

While Labor used the sports rorts and various other sins of the Morrison government to build support for its proposal, Dutton was explicit. The new body should investigate Labor’s links with the CFMEU and other militant unions.

Like him or not, I think he is going to be a formidable opposition leader.

He'll have to be careful he doesn't stray over into ******* territory. Australian's have shown little tolerance, in recent years, for a return to the Abbott style *******ry

Just a reminder, they already did that in 2015 (Royal Commission into Trade Union Governance and Corruption).

I sure hope you are correct about him being a good opposition leader as Labor need to be held into account just like any previous governments. Issue is , he still has the same hacks from the previous government so unless some big changes are done, they won't be able to be a good a opposition.

Also hope the media moves on with talking about the opposition and start probing the government on what they are doing/plan on doing to tackle our current issues.

Easy to forget stuff these days, jut like Dutton seems to have forgotten that he was in government for 9 years when he was preaching to the "Forgotten Australians"
