Won't last long if Labor make their ICAC to be retrospective...

Another point is that a lot of Liberals i know will not agree of him and probably won't vote for him in an election. He might say he will move the party to the center but I doubt that will ever happen under his watch. He will have a big challenge ahead negotiating the new terms of the coalition with the Nats considering they kept all their seats while the Libs lost many.

Hopefully the Nats will kick Barnaby Joyce out.

    At least he's fully Australian.

Unlike the previous leader who was a Scott.

Speaking of that, has Albo been checked out and renounced any hint of having any rights to Italian citizenship? ;)

I think it's a poor choice - time will tell.

This is a guy who was anti same-sex marriage - boycotted the apology to the Stolen Generation - has joked and maligned our Pacific neighbours about their rising ocean concerns - and constantly whipped up false fear about immigrants and "African gangs"

Add in the new Deputy - Sussan Ley - who, as environment minister spent millions in taxpayers dollars fighting a court battle claiming she didn't have a "duty of care" regarding climate change - overruled a recommendation and allowed vital koala habitat to become a quarry - denied the Great Barrier reef was in environmental danger - and she's been sprung using government money to fund private trips (with a sprinkle of work)

    Bring on the ICAC

Most Australians hold moderate views and tend to veer to the centre. This leaves them with no choice other than Labor

He is going to need one of the biggest re-inventions in political history. Mind you, as a trusted conservative, he is one of the only people in the party who can stand up to the conservative side of the party and bring them into line with mainstream Australia on climate policy, integrity, etc.

I've heard some of the most extreme libs saying they should give up on their blue ribbon seats and just focus on outer metro, mortgage belt seats instead. Never mind that around here, they have lost both. Otherwise, they would actually have to change policy...

It's a losing strategy. The teals have cut off their legs and they are just calling it a flesh wound.

Having said that I wish him the best of luck to him - we all need a mainstream, strong alternative to vote for.

Glad to see the Nats appear to have learnt some lessons as to how they may get back on the government benches...

    I don't know about that.

But I've heard a rumour that the former Lib leader is now known as Scott No Mates.

I think at the moment Dutton is a good choice not sure there were other options.
Our Government is based on 2 parties. The role of opposition leader/government is to try to ensure the Government does a goods job/cause discussion.

I think before the next election the party needs to decide who will lead the party in the election. They have a lot of reflection to do.

I think both parties should have had this discussion 9/12 months before the election we just had.

“How Labor flooded media with negativity to strategically convince people not to like Scott Morrison.

“They didn't so much care about celebrating their policies or ideas instead it was a campaign run on negativity.”

I don't think they needed to do much in that regard as Morrison did a great job at it himself. He is being booed because people saw him to who he really is.

I wouldn't rely much on Sky new to get credible news about Labor or the independents.

Josh Frydenberg would have been a much better candidate

Frydenberg was scared of his own shadow.

We could see another decade of Labor, easy. The Libs need real humans, not these Corporate created cyborgs.
