Who were you with? I signed up for Choice Magazine just to find the best company and PetPlan consistently came up near the top so I chose them. Haven't made a claim yet though.

    Try claiming?
My dog nearly choked on a bone, cost around $1500, but took months to pay, they were checking previous history, but what has this got to do with this scenario, this is an accident.

Eventually paid up. Are they all like this? That is why I am posting

I've actually got a claim I need to submit from a few months ago. I will lodge it soon and keep you posted.

What's the claims for? If there is previous history anywhere, other vets you are stuffed, they will not pay up

Cat was brought in to get his teeth cleaned. They put him under first (normal procedure). Teeth cleaning and general checkups are usually not claimable but while he was under he nearly stopped breathing, apparently he had a case of undiagnosed pneumonia. So we had to spend more money on X-rays and other revisits etc.

A few months prior he had to undergo a big surgery to his leg and all the stuff that goes along with it. I suspect they will use this against him. If they do then I'm out, because A) I was upfront about it when I signed up for the policy so if they had an issue with it they should have told me immediately, and B) if such a simple claim is rejected what chance have I got for any others. This will be a good test to see if I'm wasting my money. There's no point, I've seen John Q and it's just too much trouble to fight the system.
