WA did a DST trial for 3 years and I really thought they would get on-board after that - but sadly not.:(
They always said WA stands for Wait Awhile. :p

Try 5 hrs for NZ. Getting up very early these days to chase things up. Nightmare if trying to catch people who are only in the office until lunch time.

Try dealing with Qld. It's still Christmas 1987. ;)

I hate "daylight saving". I like getting up early, AND putting kids to bed when the sun is still up is a PITA! It's worse when you've got an extra hour of sunlight.

In winter we tend to wake up in the dark, so why not punt the clocks forward then??

I get phone calls at 7.00 am Perth time because its 9.00 am EST Melb, now I will be getting phone calls at 6.00 am. I don't like turning my phone off, goes against the grain:)

Don't phones have a "do not disturb" timer on them? Mine does, I don't get notified of any calls, texts or emails before 8am, or after 7pm. I can still see missed calls and texts when I check my phone.

I have an iPhone and it has a "Do Not Disturb" function in the settings. It means you can leave your phone on loud/vibrate or whatever, but you specify what times you don't want any notifications. If there's an urgent call ie caller tries again, it won't be silenced and you can set it to allow calls from certain contacts.

I thought the Android phones had this too?

I just got the latest iPhone 7+, needed the larger screen.
I need to start checking it out closely. Phones are not my thing, now shoes... that's another story:)

Thought so. I have an Xperia at home and I thought it had that function, but work insisted I have one of their phones...

I like my phone. I hold down the red button and it magically diverts all phone calls to the keep-u-waiting room. When I press the green button, it sends all the messages from the keep-u-waiting room to my handset when I can review them in my own time. I am more than happy with this system.

I had daughters travelling overseas. They used to call me all hours of the night Australian time. As tech savvy as they were, they didn't ever get the hang of checking the time zone back home.

I would never put my phone on silent, like they told me to do after several complaints, just in case it was a real emergency.

Listening to someone on the radio who said it was a pain being on the border of Qld and NSW, as the phone alarm would switch between the two time zones at random ... so the morning alarm could easily go off an hour early

I'll give you a call in 10 years when WA has reached that point in time ;)

Hate not having DLS, it was so awesome those couple of years we had it.

IN WA during the year times for Sunrise and Sunset in Wyndham are vastly different to that of Denmark
