Whats a good tax accountant that specialises in property and developments, that isnt too expensive? Or is it the same as just having a generic HRblock type person to do this. Looking small scale say about 4 properties?
@Ross Forrester is worth talking to. I have no idea about their costs. I've seen three new clients where the work was done cheaply and it is an absolute mess. Disclosures required for many. The difference between someone who knows what they are talking about and some "cheapie" provider is world's apart. Don't worry about cheap. worry about getting it right. these errors have costs these clients tens of thousands. ATO is ramping up it's activities and many tax agents are now losing their licenses. Those clients who are with those practitioners will soon end up with audits for sure.
You are not charged by number of properties but the amount of time the Accountant spends putting the numbers together. A minimum is an hour and most Accountants are about $350/hr. More work == more cost. Have seen Ross Forrester being recommended a few times. If you are not set on geographic proximity than @Paul@PFI and @Mike A both know their stuff
