    Hello experts!
Im a first home buyer and has been looking to build a new home. However i have pull out from building before signing any contract as i find it too risky to build now.
Unfortunately i have a budget so im weighing on a really old standalone house, or a brand new townhouse in a nice estate, or a 10yr old villa.
Care to share your views on these 3 types of dwelling? cheers!

A really old standalone house, every single time.

But that's mostly from a financial point of view, and there's other factors you probably want to consider when buying somewhere to live. What is important to you?

Camping gear the saying is light, strong or cheap. Pick any two.
Budget, location or property type/block size. Pick 2

It your budget is fixed. You have to balance location and property type. No point buying a nice house on a big block if it's a long drive to work or a not so nice location.
I have been looking. I prefer location so I have to compromise on property type.
