    Hi all,

Just after a general timeframe for councils in Melbourne to approve town planning and building permits. From the date of drawing submission, assuming there aren't too many queries to go back and forth with, how long has it taken people to start their development?
The development is residential and only 1 dwelling at this stage.

    Cheers,

    Jacob

Planning - allow at least 3 months for something very simply, but don't be surprised by four. Could be up to six, depending on how it's handled - get someone to look after the processing for you.
Building - use a private building surveyor, not Council - could be just a few weeks
