Nope - didn't lend to women at all ... then changed to lending to women "as long as" there was a male guarantor ... only relatively recent that women can borrow on their own. Possibly before your time, but very well remembered by many of us

As for buying - all three older Gen Y kids have their own homes. Perhaps we're oddballs.

In some European countries they have extremely long lease option - however - for the very long leases, the properties sometimes come as shells, as it's up to the tenant to install the kitchen, bathroom etc, and to maintain the property as if it's their own home

Retail leases are longer than in European countries

Most live very basically. Boomers are generally well off. The facts are simpler than fantasy. They're not buying houses as they earn less and houses cost more. They're buying more "toys" because again, they're cheaper. A ps5 is maybe $550. They would of bean about the same for a PS1 in the 90s.

As for travel, don't get me started on boomer "river cruises". People of all generations consume, it's not a baramoter for the entire generation.

They are more concerned with keeping up with the kardashians than the Jones.

You say they earn less, so where does the money come from? Parents?
Toys? Who buys toys, kids or parents?

People under 30 brag about travel as if it's a personal achievement being in x amount of countries.

    "40% of millennials
planning to take a trip with friends within the next year."

    "Millennials

Millenials definitely take a break, they just come back broke and blame boomers for it.

But first a bit of lippy, lipo, suck & tuck, boobs and botox for the selfies.

Lolled at this. Taking a week dlto do Reno's next week after two back to back 17hr work days. My old apprentice (Millennial) said I hadn't learnt what holiday means. I take my leave but use it to work 75% of the time.

It's simply a shift from a "live to work" to "work to live" mentality.
