Brisbane moved aggressively in a very short period of time from memory it was 2004-2007 and then pulled back...then it pretty much bounced along at the same prices...for a while....till about 2020.

It started moving in 2000...I recon next year in 2023 same thing will happen with a pull back in most areas.

05E7A5CF-C0CE-43C8-B4B9-CBA46AD08320.jpeg Brisbane pretty much flatlined from 2012-2020 as per chart, current growth line pretty similar to 2004

I think you will be right sash, bris has had a great run, most of Aus has, I think rate rises will cool things off surely. I'm no expert though ha

I haven't heard anyone on the Gold Coast say that. I'm meeting lots of people that have moved here from Sydney. Maybe it's the young ones?
My hubby and I lived in Sydney all of our lives. We moved early 2020 and LOVE the Gold Coast. Best move decision ever.

i guess it's ok for those with certain mindsets.

There was a woman on the radio the other day here in Melb calling in, saying how beoowdiful the gold coast was and boasting about her waterside home and how she loved living in a gated community.

I laughed as i can't think of anything worse!

horses for courses i guess, it was probably an improvement for her from her former Footscray life.

Personally i prefer the urban vibrancy of the large cities, or alternatively i would like a true country type spot, not to live with a whole load of other "lifestyle" relocaters in a gated community

i wouldnt take to living in a planned gated community - a few palm trees and a secure intercom or bit of water don't make me feel like " this is luxury" or even aspirational.

Many of the sort of Aussies who move to the Gold Coast and think it's absolutely amazing are the same type of people like Brits in the UK who leave a crappy suburb in a city and go and live in a villa on the Costa Del Sol in Spain, and boast about drinking their Nescafe on a balcony in winter as its still warm.

Give me moody dark grey Melb any day! :)

If they moved here for the "better weather" they must be feeling a shock right now!

Has been the wettest and most crappy 6 months of weather I've ever experienced in 20 years living here.

Usually from about now until November is beautiful, low 20s, blue skies everyday. Hardly any rain. Not this year!

I guess those from Melbourne might feel at home though..

There's more to the Gold Coast than gated communities.

Brisbane is probably the best city to live in Australia other than the summer months from Nov to March/April.

What a clueless, narrow minded outlook.
Have you even been to the Gold Coast?

You can keep that and I’ll keep my white sandy beaches and palm trees.

No......the plan was to move on 20th this month, come back and second move on 11th June. Timeline due to two dental appointments I had. Then I got sick, and was rushed to a specialist and they've told me that I should not move until my current issues are sorted. Main reason being that I'd no longer be considered an emergency, and I'd have to wait 3-6 months to see a specialist locally, and hopefully the issue I have will all blow over within 3 months if I say. Who knows how long it would take if I left. So.....until further notice, I'm still here.

    I have to agree.

Yuck! That's the exact reason we did NOT move to Melbourne, despite pleas from daughter.

Yeah, if i have to choose between Gold coast and Melbourne, Gold Coast would win any day. More options of cafes are good to have, but weather is something you would have to deal with every single day. btw, imho, Sydney is the perfect Goldie lock zone if you are fortunate enough to live near the harbour or beaches.

Nov-April is 6 months, so basically it's good for half the year?

Sorry to hear you are not well, hope you get it sorted. Sounds like a good plan with the interstate health systems
