Dont enjoy. Maybe burned out on Barossa shiraz. Prefer Heathcote (Jasper Hill, Tatiarra), Orange (Ross Hill, Philip Shaw) and Margaret River Cabs (Moss Wood, Woodlands).

Maybe just off the big heavy reds. Good thing about SA, can just go look at another world class wine region in another direction.

Norton Estate Wines - stopped there on way back from Great Ocean Road and Grampians trip. Nice cooler climate wine.
Great wine, spent a couple hours going through their wines with the owner having a chat, showed me around the setup.
All whilst my partner sat in the car :) haha she thought I was just stopping in.

How long until Aldi releases a $5 wine that blind tasters universally agree DESTROYS Grange?

They'd need to be very blind...as in at least 15 drinks in.

I've tried a lot of that Aldi stuff at different price points...average all of it. Which is fine, its competitive at its price point.

If you want to invest in wine you really do need a proper cellar to store it.

I am part of a wine appreciation society - we have a good collection that is stored in a dedicated cool room in Malaga. It costs a bit but nobodies house has a big enough place to store it.

Sometimes is a wine does a run on price we will sell back to local restaurants and then rebuy stuff (normally a good wine that is ready to drink now). The incremental difference from a $70 bottle to a $250 bottle is not that great.

@Ross Forrester I bought a Vintec wine fridge, which is meant to fit 170 bottles, but couldn't get close to fitting that many.
Reckon I managed to squeeze in around 80. Wasn't much fun deciding which bottles made the cut to the fridge.
Remaining sits under the stairs which is pretty good spot anyway, really consistent temp and no movement.

Need to store it properly which costs dollars, kinda ruins returns.

If you want to enjoy it you're better going to a Penfolds vertical tasting.

    How's this for wine storage?

An underground wine cellar in Tasmania is for sale, for $3 million
