    Hi,

just wondering how do I install pebbles to my garden bed? I got the ‘Snow White pebbles’ from bunnings. There are plants already. I am going to have weedmat in place first before putting in the pebbles. Do I wash the pebbles before putting them onto the Weed mat? Thanks

Put weed mat down, cut holes in it for your plants to get through. Pour pebbles on top.

Depends how windy it is on the day you are putting the weedmat down, and how many hands/feet you have available at the time!

And FWIW we did wash (hosing off) our pebbles before laying as there was heaps of mud/silt/sand. They were already washed, and we asked for the ones off the top of the heap, but still pretty dirty. Saves trapping all that dirt on top of the weedmat and providing a new base for weeds. Used a lot of water!

Then 10 minutes in the microwave to dry them or 1/2 hour in the clothes dryer for that tumbled look.

Stop it or some ning nong will actually try it.

However, it would be interesting for someone to do it - pleeeease - because I'd like to know how long it would take for the pebbles to explode with the expansion of any moisture retained after washing.

Have you now realised that it takes a LOT of pebbles to fill any area. 1 tonne isnt much. A bag is nigh on useless. I have a side area with pebbles and a small area of 2m2 that we added for bins. 100mm depth. Damned pebbles. Heavy and a bag covers almost no area

I would have considered a landscape supplier vs Bunnings. They may even have a dingo to unload and a liittle extra cash would have been fast. I paid the dude $40 cash and he did it in three scoops. If I used a shover it would have taken hours. They are so heavy.
