Forest Lake is supposed to be a termite haven, wonder if it is the cheap & easy to eat timber ?

I am not sure if it is true though....

Forest Lake sounds like a swamp with lots of trees ?

@dabbler it seems termites is only causing you issue when you have existing house, not with the new house  because usually the newer house can be installed with TermiMesh.

Hi Tekoz, newer houses usually have some kind of termite protection, but do not think that it is bulletproof.

I would not worry about the new house, and even with old houses, termites, if they are into the house, are not the end of the world, but they can do a lot of damage if ignored.

Termites are everywhere, including in Sydney, I had a house that had termites, but frankly water drainage was a bigger issue, and the idiots from the local pub made termites quite attractive.

Hi there ... i just came across this forum ..pretty interesting ..
So i will need to confirm that actually u bought 4/2/2 and land size is 250 . Is it correct ?

If so, u need to compare with another 4/2/2 with the same land size . I feel u only compare with 4/2/2 without paying attention to the size so thats why u think the increase is significant .
I also bought parkridge house and secured in dec 2015 . 4/2/2 with land size 300 .

Finally, I've found someone who has made right decision in this forum. mate, you are not alone in this suburb.

@lotus Yes, I bought lot #60 in Mt. Barney Crescent last year 4 bedroom house for $300k.
How much did you bought and where about are you ?

So far the suburb is gentrifying, Masters, Woolies and many more shops are opening in Park Ridge

This is the first real plus I've heard. Get in early. Secure a long lease.

That is good news - better secure that first tenants as when the other investment properties in that area comes up, you will be fighting tooth and nails trying to secure tenants for your asking price.
When it is cheaper price to secure your own place, you aren't the only one that can afford it.
Hence I try to stick with above median price of property. Yes I have to pay more out of my pocket for the first 3 years, but after that it's all good.

Should be quick if your agent has renters on waiting list.
