I was reading about a young lady who has invented a paper product that helps make fresh food last 2-4 times longer before it suffers from spoilage. My understanding is that it's because the paper has spices in it that helps fight against fungal and bacterial growths. Imagine the possibilities!
She has also given a TED talk on it, you can find it on her Web page.

I would like to say kudos for her for persevering and creating such a product. It seems to be an effective (and generally biodegradable) product (except for the packaging but I suppose that can't be helped) and I think she deserves all the success that she gets!

If approximately 25% of food in the world goes to waste because of spoilage, just imagine how much benefit to the world her product can deliver.
    Please share.

Great idea. I wonder if the big supermarket chains are resisting promoting this, as it would affect their revenue.

It would probably be good for supermarkets to take it up.... think about it... you might be tempted to buy 4+ punnets of strawberries instead of just 2, so you can eat them over the course of a week instead of just a few days, knowing that they'll be good for longer. I know I would. I love strawberries. :)

If your youthful appearance is deteriorating due to fungal and bacterial growth I think you need a bit more than herbal paper.

This is the inventor aged 16 vs. 29. I think she wraps her face in it!
