Last night I met a client who has been on a low card diet for 9 months and lost about 20kgs. He has bacon and eggs for breakfast everyday - but no carbs. Now he gives himself one meal a week where he can pig out on anything he wants and he has a bit of carbs for this meal.

He sent me this site for more info

I'm a bit "hmmmm" regarding the sudden influx of dairy intolerance thing.

I love my dairy but it made me bloat - until a clinical chemist advised that as soon as milk is homogenised, the protein pattern in the milk is change - the enzymes in the digestive system don't recognise the new pattern and hence attacks it (causing intolerances).

Every since I moved to un-homogenised - no problems.

Just goes to show - stop messing with our food!

I tried the diary diet but it was too hard to swallow the paper.

I ofteb buy unhomogenised milk but that's more cos of the taste of the couple of producers who do it.

Unfortunately with milk being an inconsistent and variable natural product the weirdos out there demanded a more consistent product which is why milk is now homogenised.

Likely the same people who only buy unblemished frui and eat meat only if it's boneless

Hey Lizzie, where do you get un-homogenised milk from?
I know that cows milk is pretty much illegal unfortunately.

Un-homogenised is relatively easy to get - I get Over The Moon from the Hunter Valley - Jersey milk. http://www.johnsonsfarmgate.com.au/otm/

Un-pasturised is the one that cannot be consumed.

I get it from the local farmers market. Not a supermarket line

If I can't get some, Pauls Pure Organic is un-homogenised and is available from Colesworth without too many issues - both of my local ones have it.

Paul's have a version at both Coles and Woolies ... in a green 1lt carton ... obviously more expensive than the cheap $2 jobbies, but worth it

Sorry, but that seems very much like a placebo effect to me!
So you're basically the inverse Goldilocks, you can eat the food that's too hot and the one that's too cold, but not the one in between? Doesn't seem to make too much sense to me.

By the way (and this isn't all that relevant, but interesting), did you know that apparently a mix of half sleeping pills and half placebo can be more effective for treating insomnia than just sleeping tablets?

It would have been hard to grow fields of grains with all the dinosaurs roaming around

I had a bit of a look at lunch but only saw the Pauls/Organic etc. homogonised.

No - as I said - but will explain slower - I bloat with milk that has been altered to a homogenised state ... where the fat cells (cream) is blasted to free float within the rest of the milk and not clump at the top.

Apparently the process of homogenising alters the shape of the protein molecules in the milk and therefore the enzymes in the gut cannot adhere.

Don't you ever wonder why there are so many intolerances nowadays compared to 30-40 years ago? The only person I met in my youth, who had any sort of allergy, was a girl allergic to bee stings ... now every second person seems to be allergic or intolerant.

Perhaps it is partly because of messing with the food - such a homogensing milk - that is causing such
