    Hey guys,
Planning on painting the whole house in Vivid white and thought i'd ask for opinions first.(Walls would be in low sheen and doors, architraves, trims would be semi gloss enamel )
I've attached a few photos from different angles to sort of show how much light the property gets.
The large window is West facing and there is another Window in the kitchen that is East facing.
last photo is for the west Facing entrance that doesn't get much light.

A bit worried that Vivid White might be too surgical/crisp so thinking maybe Half strength would do

    What you guys think?

    Cheers IMG_20170507_133554.jpg IMG_20170507_133927.jpg IMG_20170507_134049.jpg IMG_20170507_134124.jpg

I think vivid white would be too cold/stark for the whole house. Save it for skirting boards / architraves etc.

A warmer white would suit the rooms you've shown and will still look very white.
e.g. Dulux's Natural White, Whisper White and Antique White U.S.A. would probably look nice,
I've also used British Paint's "Love Note" (with lots of natural light) and Taubmans' "Princess Bling" (less natural light) I used them in different houses, but both looked good.

    Thank you @Phase2,
Just had a chat to the painter and going wtih Natural white all around.
I think vivid white would be better for a more contemporary place while Natural white wouldn't look too stark with wood floorbards i think!

    Cheers

Was just going to suggest Natural White also.. nice warm hue with the afternoon sun.. would go vivid White for ceilings and skirtings to give a small amount of contrast.

I'm currently painting our QLD'er vivid white for the walls and trims and love it.. no such thing as too white or too stark in my book :D

This is the look we've gone for.. you can add some warmth with the furnishings.

I've just gone lexicon 1/4 for a PPOR - looks sweet so far. Will dress up the walls with art/photos.

    Cheers

Just did the dulux whisper white on all my walls and vivid white semi gloss on the skirting and trims and worked really well, I was considering the vivid white everything too but prefer this

    Hi @paulF

I'd ditch the curtains before you paint (painter will need to patch the holes from the rods). Those curtains are contributing to darkening the room. If you replaced witih something light and bright it'd be better. 50mm pvc venetians (in white) from Bunnings are a great budget option.

I think you can get away with Vivid White in a Queenslander because there's a lot going on more ornate atraves more ornate skirting and of course VJ walls give some texture and pattern. They are not just flat white walls

Very true.. didn't think of that for a standard plasterboard/cove cornice detail. Might be a bit too clinical.

Be careful with all those different whites.
I did some research and there are some good blogs/pages out there commenting on the different whites and off-whites.
Many 'throw' colours that people don't want. Its hard to tell until they are on the wall.
e.g. Is it off-white because its got yellow in it? or because blue in it?
Read some reviews about what colours they 'throw'. To pick the one that you like.

I was lucky and had @bob shovel advise that Antique White USA would throw yellow, which was perfect for the reno. I don't think it is white at all, it really is cream.

    Cheers guys,
Stayed with Natural White and the ceilings were done yesterday. Great colour so far and not throwing any other colours from what i could see. Looks very neat and not too cold but still need to see the house painted in it's whole entirety to make a final judgment i guess.
    Will follow up with photos

A few photos from the end result guys. Thanks again everyone for the great suggestions.
it was really hard to get the real color to show on the phone camera but it's pretty much white but not too flash and stark. Maybe offsetting some red hues under very dim yellow light.
I've also added the before and after results from painting the bathroom tiles and the metal bathtub.
