We were thinking of replacing all tiles in bathroom and ensuite including showers.
    It's for an IP.
    They're old and plain ugly.
Who has successfully DIY painted shower tiles?
Will have to replace a broken tile and are happy to re-grout.

    Pros and Cons?

    yep...
    Its a messy job
As with all painting the better you prep the surface the better the finished job.
The White Knight stuff started peeling off in places after 18 months...I was expecting 12 months so it exceeded my expectations ;)

    Low standards?

@Wizzbef - Getting a pro in to spray the tiles & bake the paint will result in a longer lasting solution and done in one day.

Depending on the tiles, even a crappy job can look amazing. We had te most hideous roman bath type thing with mission brown tiles - we painted it (quite poorly - painting is not my skill-set!) but it looked a gazillion times better than before.

A bit messy but not too hard. Clean well with sugar soap, use "Penetrol" as a sealer and then paint.
A warning about penetrol , it's got a very strong chemical smell and it stinks for a while, as in weeks...

I've only done the DIY ones for sales - not sure how long they last after it has settled!!

For our IPs, have used mendabathroom and thermoglaze. They have been generally quite good.
