I had my 100sqm 2 bedder unit painted for $2.2k. Some neutral colours for walls and ceiling. Dulux anti mould for kitchen and bathrooms.

Got quotes for hipages anywhere from $2.8 to $4k. Went with a sole contractor- took him two weeks to do the place. Cash in hand.

Thank you. That is very helpful! I'm after white paint everywhere but ceilings, archetraves, skirting boards etc a brighter white than the walls. 72sqm.

Consider if your doors and skirting boards are oil based paint. If so, the painter may need to sand these down before priming and painting. I didnt get a quote for those but the vibe I got is that they are major jobs, especially the doors.

Take out a rag, add some metho and give the various surfaces a rub. If you get some paint residue starting to come off then you are dealing with waterbased. Oils won't budge unless you use acetone or paint stripper.
If you are on a budget, painting is one of the easiest things to DIY. You could do it yourself for around $500 with some primo elbow grease.

if you think 2k is expensive to paint your whole place then you have a long and stressful road ahead

Consider doing it yourself over a couple of weekends, spend a few hundred on paint, if that.

    Hi @TTT888

No never did hear from the original poster - however we've since hired someone to do our 2br in Narwee and would totally use them again

Feel free to mention "Dean the guy in New York" when you hire them and maybe they'll give me a discount on our next place :).

Like i said, they were prompt, sent photos once the job was done, totally professional around confirming payment received via bsb transfer etc.

We will be using them for our other places as we have tenants move out etc.

    Cheers,
    Dean
