Visa entry wise the UK and several countries within the EU with a Australian current passport you don't need a entry visa, unless you fall within the spent sentence 10 year range then you will have to apply for a entry visa..

With 16 days after travel times base yourself in London and with the way cheap flights from London into Europe then you would have the time of your life..

One item is to have travel insurance and what it cover's,and the exclusions within the policy, from what i found out this morning after trying for several hours yesterday only one would cover for a terrorist attack..
Wife does not know yet but i booked 3 months ago 5 weeks based in London-Berlin leave next week on my Wife's birthday..

Last time I checked you didn't need a visa.

The only problem with say, Tokyo in June is the unbearable humidity and high probability of rain.

Fascinating place, affordable. New cheap direct flights with J-star.

It will be high season in Europe and US due to summer holidays, so the crowds may be off putting and the prices higher.

    I love Latin America.

I have just finished an Egypt trip which was magical, the best destination I have ever been to. It will be extremely hot now though.

Where in Egypt were you Geoff. I've been there a number of times and love it also. However any more than 2days in Cairo is a bit much for me I find.
However the museum is an absolute must. Get there early as possible to avoid the crowds.

Japan is a must...and this is coming from an Italian...although Italy comes a close second only due to affordability :)

What places have you always wanted to visit?
    Been to Germany yet?
Or just see OZ - this time of year all the really hot places will be nice and cool, such as FNQ, Darwin, Broome and Uluru. No school holidays, no cyclones, no screaming kids.

    Cook Islands are amazing

5 hour flight from Syd - Aitutaki is incredible (so beautiful) and Rarotonga isn't too bad either.

Awesome food, good people and some of the best scenery I've ever seen (I've traveled a fair bit). Prices aren't cheap - probably comparable to Aus.

    Cheers

Haven't been to Japan but I think it would be amazing. Travelling out of Aus for a beach holiday I don't understand.

Update... We chose a Baltic cruise :)
I think it all works out quite well, and the airfares are surprisingly good!
I got a bit worried about visas for Russia, but then I saw that you don't have to worry about that as a cruise passenger.

Happy to do Japan another time.

I'm in the Emirates lounge in Sydney international. I have to not overeat... goal is to be the same weight as I departed. So... to remain at <63kg weight when I get back is the goal...

Just booked a return flight for family of 5 to US via Fiji in December/Jan school holidays for < $4K. Fingers crossed, this COVID-19 nightmare will be under control by then.

Was also due to fly out to Bali in April but thankfully, we just got a credit from the airline for that.
