My International Vaccination Certificates arrived yesterday!

    One for each passport.

    Just in case…

What if NZ decides this new variant is too dangerous and they don't open up in April?

Then life will continue on. We chat nearly every day via technology ... not quite the same as endless cups of tea together in front of the fire, but the chats themselves are ... sometimes lasting on and off all day, just like a visit

Going to Swiss Alps in late February come hell or high water... would not mind rolling around in the covid ward in advance to build up my immunity, but I'll settle for a booster shot instead.

ill wait for more certainty... too much mess at airports... different rules for different countries... risk of not being able to come back...

Or not being able to land - friend flew to WA, last time it shut the border while they were in mid flight, and they were all put on the next flight home (all at their own expense)

I think this is a more accurate view than the trite "Learning to live with Covid" which tends to depersonalise the situation. It's more of a situation of learning to live with the probability of being infected by, and possibly dying, from Covid.

When in Alice drive out to the Ochre pits. Amazing colours.
Lovely sunsets on the hill at the accom in Uluru (if you aren't out at the rock).
I love the Valley of the Winds walk. Stunning!

My colleague was going to go to India and see her family there. But with new Covid variant and the hassles (Countries imposing many and frequent Covid tests, quarantining and the possibility of catching Covid in the community and the fear of not being able to get back into Australia) she’s giving it a miss. I think it’s sad :(

My wife and I are planning to head to Europe in January for a couple of months. We will be booking as late as possible though. The biggest deterrent for us are those PCR tests everywhere you go.

I’m planning to be in Europe in July/August next year, spent over $1k on Queen tickets for Helsinki. But not so sure about the Covid situation yet….

Not yet but only cause I'm blowing all my cash on renos. The moment my finances recover, I'm outta here. Can't wait. I'm vaxxed up, so before a new mutation hits, this is the best chance I have.
