    Hi all,

I purchased a rental property in Perth in February via lj Hooker, to make life easier, I used their recommended lawyer to close the sale. I then used their management team to look after the property since.

Anyway, they sent me a bill this month for overdue water charges from December 2018 and service charges that were due in December. I didn't own the property then and I would have thought this would have been picked up by the lawyer/lj Hooker?

    It totalled $350

    Your advice is appreciated.

Under normal circumstances, AFAIK, the solicitors work this out to the day and an adjustment is made which is reflected on the settlement statement. First step is to see if you got credit for the amount owing prior to settlement, and if yes, then you're probably ok to pay the bill.

You bought the property in February 2018.
    You've received a bill for December 2018.

Do you mean water bill for December 2017?
Wonder why you're only receiving it now if that's the case..
