OTP apartments without reno

    Just out of curiousity, in Asia, when you buy an apartment, or what they called a condo, generally you don't get any reno, as in you just get a concrete box. Buyers then do the internal renovation themselves.

    Does this normally not exist in Aus? As in, can buyers negotiate with the developer and get a lower price? Has anyone done something like that?

    Do you mean put in the bathroom, kitchen, walls, plumbing etc?

    Yeah, thats generally what it is when you buying an otp condo in Asia, although some started including all fittings as packages now.

    There's only a few minor issues to get around:
    • Property is not habitable - difficult to get finance
    • Property is incomplete - can't get occupancy certificate
    • Lack of OC - can't get titles issued (possibly)
