oops - sorry ato employee

    Got a call on the mobile yesterday - thick asian accent identifying themselves as being from the ATO - caught me at a very busy moment, out in 40+ degree heat - told them to "pxxx off with their scam" and hung up.

    On further thought - I did write to change my postal address for my BAS statements. Rang ATO - was a legit call - oops ... profuse apology and humble pie eaten.

    On the other side - do get a lot of scam calls for things like "car accidents" so I am probably overly sus

    A similar thing happened to a relative with an Indian Telstra technican calling up to come and repair a phone line.

    I am sure you aren't the first person to tell the ATO that.

    I have had that thought a few things - I might follow your lead/example ... :) :).

    I tell each of the phone and comms carriers where to go and how to get there (in no uncertain terms and all in accordance with the Telecommunications Act).
