    1. Put random numbers on a dart board.
    2. Drink 4-6 full strength beers/sprits/wines/coolers/ciders etc
    3. Securely place a blindfold over both eyes
    4. Stand 2.4m from dartboard
    5. Spin around 3 times (not too many times otherwise you'll require a bucket)
    6. Throw 3 darts in quick succession for the quarterly amount payable.

My clients who have properties down there, typically pay about 300-350 a quarter for council rates.

Water comes separately in SA. There's 3 bits on the bill, 1) supply, 2) usage and 3) sewage . Generally what we do is pay whole bill out of rent funds then invoice the tenant for 1) and 2), leaving the landlord effectively with 3), which is about $90 a quarter.

Tenancy Laws vary between states, in NSW sewerage charges charges cannot be passed on except for pump out fees for septic systems - Cl 10.

Owners are stuck with the balance.
